Hello Folks,

Running MS AX 2012 and need to find a way of answering "what price did we pay for that item this year" - so looking for the ACTUAL price paid for an inventory item over a period of time

So if i bought 10 units @ $10 each and then bought another 10 @ $8 each i would want the answer to be $9

Hope there is a report that can do this

Thanks

    Hi ProcurementUser,

The inventory value report that Mattguo shared has the possibility to calculate and average price that divides the inventory value by the quantity. To my knowledge this is, however, different from what you are looking for. You might thus need to create a special query or check the available standard cubes whether you can make the specific calculation that you need.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks for the replies to date

To clarify i am looking for the (total delivered cost ) / (qty delivered) = "actual Price" ... per invoice ...which makes a weighted average

The period would ideally be a selectable window from date 1 to date 2 but as a minimum - for the current year

Off invoice rebates would not need to be captured

    thanks

    Good morning ProcurementUser,

Can you make your question more precise?

What I mean by saying that are things such as

    * the period you refer to. Is it the price that you paid last month, the price that you paid from 01st Jan until today

    * the price itself. Are you interested in a simple average purchase price or do you want to have it weighted somehow?

    * what about subsequent rebates/discounts/price adjustments? Do you need to take them into consideration?

    * what about charges e.g. for freight/transportation? Shall they also be included or excluded?

The inventory value report that Mattguo mentioned is an excellent source of information for that purpose but it really depends on what you want to analyze and have included/excluded in the price.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

3.Manually calculate the purchase order price for each product in excel formula.

    Hope it will help you.
