Sales by Items AX 2012- Management Reporter

ReportReport

I need to build a custom report in management reporter to show what was sold for a period by item, not by customer, and include one of my financial dimensions.  I am not sure what kind of row, column, and reporting tree definitions I should build.  I seem to only be able to do reports that show total sales figures.

    Dear Mary,

I actually had the same issue but customer wanted the financial dimension as a column, which is not possible in ManRep as far as I know. I think you can use them for filters but not use them as columns, and that's what you want if I understood correctly. Let's see if somebody can help :)

    Kind regards

    Katy

    Hello Mary Myers,

Your requirement is not absolutely clear to me.

If you are looking for creating a sales like report that shows the sales by items then you will need an item FinDim posted with each sales.

Otherwise, you can't create this kind of report in MR.

Customers can be added as an attribute in the MR but this is a very manual and lengthy setup.

If you don't have a customer FinDim that allows you separating sales by customer FinDim then better use the standard AX reports.

To me, the standard AX reports that are available in the AX client seem better than Management Reporter when it comes to sales reporting.

As an example, in the sales and marketing module you have (1) the customer/item statistics report, we also have the (2) customer turnover report there and (3) a gross margin by item report.

There are many more reports available there.

Why don't you use them rather than trying to create something similar in MR?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
