NAV 2013 R2 - Warehouse Management - Pallets

Hello

When updating to NAV 2013R2, we also change our warehouse system to the Warehouse Management (WM)system in NAV 2013R2.

So far, we have been handling pallets as well as pieces. The bins in WM obviously only is allowed to be pieces, but we have a lot of pallets going in and out.

Is there no way, apart from changing "Unit of measure" to handle pallets in NAV 2013R2?

We have more than 4.000 items in stock and cannot handle "Unit of measure" as we only sell in pieces, and will have the system to pick pallets if the quantity is larger than the quantity for the unit "Pallet" of the item.

    hi,

"Is there no way, apart from changing "Unit of measure" to handle pallets in NAV 2013R2?"

"Unit of measure" to handle pallets  is standard solution, you need customizations or  some addons.

How to: Set Up Item Units of Measure

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168442(v=nav.71).aspx

Look at this post on Mibuso, could be useful.

If you use WMS, you can use "Change Unit of Measure" function on Picks and Put-Aways.

Hello. Thank you for your answer. When using "change unit of measure" the goods are put away as pallet. But when selling goods, the system does not sell pallets, it still sells pieces, and then it is not the system, but the person doing the picking, that has to find a bin where that specific goods is put away as a pallet, and he will, as i see it, not automaticly be directed to the bin where a pallet has been put away.

You have no way in the system to mark a bin as only receiving and sending pallets?

The post on  Mibuso did not correspond to my issue, but it shows there is a problem in NAV concerning pallets.

I don´t know how many companies, that can handle, that it is the people on the floor that shall register pallets as meassure, and the later remember where they are.

Did you check Bin functionality, Pick up, Put away functionality?

Check them you may find something.. :)

I did. As i see it, it is only possible to have "one" and only "one" bin that has the type "pick" and i need two. One to pick pieces from, and one to only pick pallets from.

    Hi,

You need to create Unit of measure as pallet to have the inventory movement accordingly in NAV.

You can use the Breakbulk functionality to split the quantity in put and pick activity.
