Remove mandatory fitlers Search start and Search End

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone,

I'm using the resource scheduling on one of my project.

I set up it on a custom entity. I would like to know if it is possible to remove the mandatory option on the filter Search start  and  Search end.

The idea is to remove them from the filter pane and launch the search directly on opening.

In the case above, The gap between the start start and the end date is too small. Maybe it is possible to put a default value?

To summarize:

- Is it possible to remove these fields from the filter pane ?

- Is it possible to remove the mandatory option from these fields ?

- Is it possible to put a default value on these two fields?

Thank you very much

Wrt/ your "assign" question, this is described here: docs.microsoft.com/.../schedule-new-entity

Keep in mind that the custom entity record and the associated requirement record will not be kept in sync automatically, this is something you have to take care of. It is however standard for work orders.

    Ok last question I hope.

In the Booking Setup Metadata of my entity, I set the Disable Requirement Auto Creation for Bookings to true.

Then for the test,  I created a new Resource requirement with a "From Date" and a "To Date".

This is the only Resource requirement.

When I opened the Resource Scheduling, the Search start and the Search end are still empty.

How can I "assign" a Resource requirement to a custom entity? I want to have these requirements for every Custom entity item created.

    Thank you very much again!

So if you have the Date Window Start and Date Window End populated on the work order with a date. Then this should flow down to the Resource Requirement record "From Date" and "To Date". These values will be your default values when using the schedule assistant.

But if you dont have no values for Resource Requirement "From Date" and "To Date". Then the Schedule assistant will use the "Number of days per page" value on the Schedule Board settings (The cog wheel on the schedule board). Then the schedule board will default the "Search Start" to NOW() and the "Search End" to NOW() + the amount of days/weeks the "Number of days per page" value is

    Hi,

    Thanks for the link.

So I would like to use Date Window Start and Date Window End to fill in my filters Search Start and Search End.

I saw these fields on the Resource Requirement entity but i don't understand what to do to force a default value.

Basically, I want to remove the Search start and Search end from the filter. and search from NOW(), the list of available resources. Exactly like it is done in the default Schedule board:

When I remove these filters from my custom entity schedule board, it says that I need to enter a start search and an end Search. And no available resource are displayed.

Do you know how to do to remove them properly or at least displays my resources by default ?

Thank you very much for the time spent !

This link should help you out - docs.microsoft.com/.../schedule-time-constraints

Now that I look at it these fields will be on the Resource Requirement entity - msdyn_resourcerequirment

    Hi Thomas,

    Thanks for the answers.

How and where can I set up these two fields: Time From and Time To Promised.

I set the resource scheduling on a custom entity and I don't see any field with that names.

    Thanks again.

I think these two values come from the Time From and Time To Promised fields on the work order. So it will add the values from those fields into the Schedule Assistant
