Best Practice for Replenishment and Line side inventory

My company has recently gone live with Dynamics 365. We are struggling to get a grasp on the replenishment process.

We are set up with feeder departments going into a supermarket location that then feeds to downstream production flows. Those production flows might have multiple locations that a released product could be consumed from, from what we've been told we can ONLY consume from 1 location when backflushing a finished good.

This has caused our warehousing team, if we move the released products in our system we end up with inventory in locations that will be used in production. But the system never consumes from those line side locations.

I'm looking for any advice or further reading to understand how people get around replenishing multiple locations in a single production line while keeping inventory consumption correct.

thanks,
I have the same question (0)

    Good day,

I believe there isn't an out of the box solution in standard Dynamics 365 SCM to do the "backflush consumption" from multiple line side locations.

You might consider to raise an idea on the ideas portal from Microsoft: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/

    Best regards,
    Laurens van der Tang
