Creating a hyperlink back into PSA from a Power BI report

Posted on by 12

Good evening

I am relevantly new to Power BI but have used other BI tools previously and was wondering if anyone might be able to help me?

I have a financial report which i would like users to be able to view / drill into Opportunity or Quote/Contract information held in MD365 Project Service if they need to understand the shown information

The report i have created shows the estimated revenue from the opportunity and/or the revenue from the Quote/Contract

I believe there is a way to create a hyperlink / link which contains a URL to this information in PSA and was wondering if there is anyone who has done this previously?

Thank you for any help you might be able to give in advance

    Hi Turlybird

I would reccomend looking into using XRMToolBox and get the Power Query Builder plugin.

You will have an option to add the link as a field in your query and can add it as a field in your report.

Make sure to change the link field data category to Web URL in your power BI report. You can reference this link for instructions.

Thank you so much, that looks like its going to work - I'm now receiving an runtime error which i believe is regarding access to the system

Have you seen this before or any advice?
