Webservices install not working (Unable to add user to SQL)

Hi All

I know there are a number of posts on this issue but I am still having trouble and the resolutions provided don't seem to be working for me.

Essentially I have follow the steps of adding a new user in Windows, then using that as the service account for the Webservices (using both the domain and hostname) and using Windows Authentication for accessing the database but I am still getting the same issue.

I have even tried using ADAM and have faced the same issue. I am using Microsoft's CRM 2011 VM to set this up as I would like to demo how the Connector between GP 2010 and CRM 2011 works.

If someone could help me out on this that would be great.

    Charles,

    Is the SQL server installed on the same machine you are trying to install Web Services on?  If not, you probably need to open the ports on the SQL server to allow the remote connection through Windows firewall.

    Thanks for your response.

    I have got it work but I am not sure why it didn't work before (I re-created the VM and it seem to work properly this time) so I must have missed something the first time.
