How to use Asset Structure

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi,

I need to import a lot of assets. Most of them are related to a project, which consist of more than one sub-asset. In our test environment, I have tried making a main asset and then two sub-assets. When I run an asset balances report, the main asset does not have any value. I expected it to have the total value of its sub-assets.

I need to have these sub-assets, because they are not all acquired at the same time, and thus depreciation differs from sub-asset to sub-asset, but I also need to reflect the relationship betweens these assets, so I can see the total booked value of all assets of a project.

How do I best achieve this?

BR,

Lene Kottal

    Hi Lene

Today the fixed asset structure is only for grouping, and all value calculations behind the groupings would have to be done manually or though a customization.

    Thanks.

    Hi Lene,

Sara is correct about the grouping. As workaround you can create own groupings in the Fixed asset statement rows.

You can setup grouping in the setup.

Fixed assets > Setup > Fixed asset statement rows.

A report who uses this setup can be found here:

Fixed assets > Reports > External > Fixed asset statement.

See also a report for base data.

Fixed assets > Reports > Base data > Fixed asset statement rows.

    Thanks to both you.
