I have a client that wants a date field to switch to read only when a date has been entered and saved. That is not problem. However, they also want some specific users to be able to still be able to edit the field after it has been set.
Can someone suggest a way to achieve this, preferably non-code?
you can limit who can update the field in general using field level security, but you have no oob methods to make it non editable after has been set.
Probably with a plugin and a check of a specific team inside you can make it work, but I don't see a non-code solution for your requirement.
