Unable to recall workflow submitted by the owner

Hi everyone

I have a requirement , A workflow is submitted by a business user. It was created by me, I am the owner of the worflow. If the business user is unavailable then the other colleagues cannot recall the workflow if some issue exists. Only the submitter or owner can recall the workflow. System administrator also cannot recall it..

Can anyone tell me why is this so ? Is there any duty or role which can help me to resolve this issue ?

Thank you very much.

Hi, You can check this article. Privilege mentioned in article is 'Maintain workflow instances'. If this privilege work I think it will be effective for all workflows.

    Hi Mohit

Thansk for the reply, I have already implemented this but sadly it did not give expected result in D365FO. Even the system administrator is unable to recall besides Information Technology Manager.

I have reset the usage data as well but no luck.

    Another leeds please.

What does this mean?  "system administrator is unable to recall besides Information Technology Manager."  A system administrator with full System administrator rights should be able to recall any workflow, unless the workflow instance is corrupted.

    Hello RamaKrishna,

Logically, you should only recall what your submitted or you own.

A system administrator would be able to Cancel an active workflow instance while the submitter can recall. In your case, when a new user needs to work on a document which is in review, System administrator can reset the status to draft.

Hi Frank, I mean to say none of the role assignment worked to recall the workflow.

I have assigned the role which has the privilege "Maintain workflow instances" but still recall button is unavailable. Only the user who submitted it or the owner of the workflow can see the recall button.

if not the corrupted workflow, do you think it could be due to cache ?

    Thanks for the reply :)
