Exporting More Than 5000 - NAV 2009 RTC

Hello,

My accountants need to export more than 5000 records to excel however every time they try to do this they receive an automatic error stating that this isn't possible and that it can affect performance.

Where can I go to change this setting as we aren't worried about performance when it comes to <10,000 records.

Check the below key in clientusersettings.config and also there is a limit in CustomSettings.config file about the size of the file MaxUploadSize change that too

    <add key="MaxNoOfXMLRecordsToSend"  />.

There is an easy way to do this in Classic Client.

Tools -> Options -> Max. no. of XML records to send

    xmlrecords.jpg

Changing this value fixed the issue in Classic but not in RTC.

Where is this CustomSetting.config file everyone is talking about? Is it on the server?

Yes, it should be on the server where you installed the NAV server

The path for the file is

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\service

On other note you might have to restart the services if you change CustomSettings.Config file changes to take affect.
