Hi Reader,

Greetings,

we observed that D365 F&O not generating the voucher number in CHRONOLOGICAL order, is there any Programming issue or Functionality issue in ERP, we are using F&O Installed product version : 10.0.39

if anybody facing the similar issues, we need to take this matter to Microsoft to rectify the same.

any MVP / group member help what is the exact reason and remedy for the same.

Hi Rama,

What is the exact behavior in 10.0.39 you are facing ? Are you saying number sequence is getting generated 1.2.3.4 and then 1.3?

Or 1.2.3.4.8.10?

number sequence is getting generated like 1,2,3,5,6,7,15,16,17,18,20,21,22 etc

Your example actually is chronological, it just misses some numbers. If can happen, e.g. when a value is obtained from a sequence but the record isn't saved. I don't see it anything to worry about.

Hey,

Please check if the clean up is enabled. If 2 or more users create a record the numbers are reservated. If the journal f.e. is deleted, the and not posted, D365FO will not reuse the number unless the cleanup has been run.

Therefore, it is possible that you have a lower number seq. created later than a higher number seq.

On the status list, you can check which numbers are free. If it is a journal for example and you delete the journal, these numbers will become available again AFTER the cleanup - you can also run the manual clean up below the Status list in the action pain I marked.
