Hi,
I developed one composite data entity and able to export the data in xml format but when I am trying to import the data(using same xml file) , it throws an error "Staging data not available for Composite entity - please view staging data for child entities"
I'm not able to figure out the root cause , please suggest.
Thank you!!
You need to select one of the child entities to view the staging data.
I assume that the actual import works ok since you didn't mention anything about it. And you just have this problem when you want to check the staging data. Correct?
I believe this is the scenario when you are trying to view the data in the staging table?
Use the child on instead
Thanks, I tried using standard Sales order Composite V3 entity and getting same error and even data not inserted in staging table as shown below:
You can try to find and read all the related logs around this import. Unfortunately Data management errors are often very generic so it's not so easy to find the issue.
However it's not unexpected that you can't do a Sales order import using all the fields of the export.
Instead try to remove unnecessary fields from the file and use trial/error to produce content that works.
Start with the same fields that you need to type when creating an order via the user interface. Customer, item, quantity etc.
I am using same file for import ( as exported through data entity) just by changing the salesOrderId in the file. I suppose it should work in that way.I can't see any log other than mentioned in screenshot above.
Do you have any error when add the file on the mapping? You can try export 1 line of record, try import with that. Are you using CSV file format, please check if the address or any field with comma will impact the import. Maybe can try with xml or excel.
You said that you're changing the sales order id in the file. Which means you're trying to provide a sales order id in the file. I don't think that it will work if you're using a number sequence for sales order numbers. Instead you should let the import auto-generate the order number for you.
I recommend to fine-tune your import data by importing header and lines via the simple entities first. Once you know that the data is good you can start using the composite entity. This will let you figure out the data part before starting to deal with possible new/other issues with the composite entity.
I tried exporting 1 sales order record in xml format and import the same( using different salesId) , but its not even inserting in staging table
