How to exclude Sales orders from Planning (net requirement)?

Hi,

I have entered monthly quantities in Demand Forecast.

Planned orders are generated based on this forecast. However there are random sales orders being entered by SALES, if sales orders exceed Forecast qty. then a new planned Production  orders are generated.

Is there a way that system should consider only the Demand Forecast  for planning and not these sales orders.

Try turning off "Include Inventory Transactions" on your Master Plan Setup.

This does probably exclude all types of inventory transactions...

    Thanks Fredrik,

however, if i turn it off, will it still consider Demand forecast and generate planned orders based on the forecast qty.?

    Hi

I have set it up as per above.

so now Sales orders are not appearing in planning, and demand is generated purely based on the Demand forecast.

However , now the open Purchase and Production orders are also not appearing; which is why system is generating additional planned orders to procure and produce (ignoring the ones that are already open).

can Planned purchase and production orders be included in planning , with the same setting of Sales orders and Demand forecast?

if you plan using the warehouse dimension you can try create Sales order with warehouse is not used in Master Plan

    Thanks Tomasz,

but I will need this Finished Goods warehouse (FG-wrhs) for on hand stock consideration in Master plan.

now what I am planning is to create a new warehouse for sales order entry e.g.

    SALE-wrhs

so once stock is produced in Production warehouse (PR-wrhs), it will be transferred to FG-wrhs, and will be stocked in there, and will be included in Master plan; which will generate Production and Procurement recommendations based on Demand forecast (entered in FG-wrhs) and the on hand stock.

Sales orders to be entered in the newly created SALE-wrhs; as per requirement stock will be moved form FG-wrhs to SALE-wrhs; allocate stock in SALE-wrhs, and dispatch.

please do indicate in case if anyone foresee some complication with above arrangement :-)

    Thanks,
