When i posted a sales and purchase order I see that G/L entry table gets automatically update.I would like to know the link and also I want to insert a new field in G/L entry table and i want that table to update when post a new sales order or purchase order or Invoices.

I want to create a new field in sales order and transfer it to g/l entry can i know what tables i need to modify and where make the changes.
I am not trying for the code I just looking for the table which is related to the G/L entry .
I just found there is not direct link between G/L entry and sales line and we have to get it from the posted documents .
and also we have shown you the place it should be modified. dont expect code from forums. Please try yourself and let us know what is not working.

sorry I don't think we can help you more, as changing the code (especially posting codeunits) is a very delicate task. Without knowing what exact changes are needed, what other changes are made, etc. it is almost impossible to point to the actual place where you need to make a change.

posting to the GL is managed by Posting Groups. As Mohana suggested, you can check the Codeunits but I'd encourage to understand whether the new 'posting' routine cannot be achieved changing Posting group setup rather than modifying the most sensitive codeunits.
