Hi,

I am working with an issue where supplier invoices are getting stuck in "Subledger journal entries not yet transferred."

I was speculating it might be due to a missing batch job, as this previous post is mentioning 2 jobs for process automation.

1. Process automation polling system job

2. Process automation background processes system job

Process Automation Batch jobs

That would make sense as in my environment the only job running is "Process automation background processes system job", I dont see a polling system job. The reason for this post is I am just struggling to find any reference too multiple jobs in MS literature and when I look at standard contoso it only has one job listed. So wondering if the information on this other forum post is maybe outdated or purely incorrect.

How are your batch transfer rules for subledger journal account entries ?

It's set up as Asynchronous currently.

You need to setup the batch under General ledger > Periodic tasks >

Microsoft has made performance improvements.

Now, it depends on which parameters you have selected (Asynchronous or Scheduled batch). If you have the new feature turned on (Feature name: Subledger Transfer to General Ledger Performance Optimization), the process runs via Process Automation.

Yes we are running the processes via new process automation features, we have the "Subledger Transfer to General Ledger Performance Optimization" switched on. I have initialised the batch jobs a number of times and it said they are already running, but I have transactions getting stuck in "Not transferred", I was thinking this illusive polling job was the process that moved them to "Pending Transfer" and that might be why they are not being processed.

Hi @Lexington83

Polling job clears the queue (subledger journal entries not yet transferred).

The queue (subledger journal entries not yet transferred) can be filled at random times, as users can post different transactions at different times.

Polling that clears the queue runs on a schedule. If polling is set to run one hour from now (based on the schedule and last runtime), anything posted from now until the next polling run will go to the queue (subledger journal entries not yet transferred).

You can change the polling job schedule to run it more frequently.

@Sohaib Cheema Thanks for that, yes I had already been down that route and tried changing the frequency. What threw me is that post where someone was claiming they had 2 batch jobs for Process Automation and wrote with great conviction what each job was doing. I can't see any evidence of these 2 jobs anywhere.

So, Microsoft has a base engine to manage all jobs, which they call Process Automation. If you go to System Administration >> Inquiries >> Batch Jobs, search for Process Automation, and you will find a batch job with the task ProcessAutomationPollingEngine.

This base engine produces and manages the schedule for all types of jobs/work in the system. Since your task, the one you're focused on (subledger journal entries not yet transferred) is not the only task in the system, there could be other tasks as well. The base engine (Process Automation) manages the schedule for all jobs.
