Respected team.
I'm have been stuck at an issue lately an can't figure out how to resolve it. Actually AX is working very slow for a client and a single SO creation is taking more than 5 -6 mins which it usually doesn't take but when I logged with the user credentials of the same user into my system the AX seems to working fine and SO creation doesn't take much time not more than a min . So I thought this could be a network issue or something on the client machine and asked System Admin to check it but he verified from his end there's no issue with the network and told me this is an AX application issue and I can't figure wat the actual problem is as I checked from side there doens't seem to any issue with the application . This issue has been running for past 2 weeks and now the end user is getting frustrated and so am I cus I can't figure out wat the actual cause of the problem is , I would appreciate if anyone could help me out since this needs to be addressed immediately .Thanks
Hi Mukesh,
If this ran for the last two weeks, do you know if something changed? Is it slow for all users or only one on that environment?
If it is slow for all users, you can check for fragmented indexes, long running queries and if the number sequence has been setup with a continuous number sequence.
If it is slow for one user, you can try to delete the AUC files on the client machine for this user.
Hi Andre
I did try deleting the Auc file on the client machine but it doesn't help , I'm not sure wats the cause of the issue but in our company they did the some financial year recalculation closing the previous and opening period for next , thus creating new number sequences and AX in general for has been working comparatively slow but for this specific client it's too slow and just doesn't work , takes considerable time , also I'd appreciate if you could tell me how could I check for fragmented indexes and long running queries since this is the first time I'm dealing with sort of issue.
Is it slow for all users or only one on that environment? If only user has slowness, to narrow down the issue you can ask that user to login to other machine to verify performance. You can also take a trace to compare between bad performance/good performance to see where slowness come from.
How to take a trace: docs.microsoft.com/.../walk-through-major-features-of-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012-trace-parser-part-1
You can refer below article to detect index fragmentation:
docs.microsoft.com/.../sys-dm-db-index-physical-stats-transact-sql
Find current running query: blog.sqlauthority.com/.../
Find SQL blocking: www.mssqltips.com/.../
As many factors can impact performance you need first narrow down and then do the tuning based on your findings. You can also log a a support ticket so that we can look into it.
