Hi Experts,

Need your help in understanding the Production Capacity Planning from Planned Production Order.

Scenario: Even when the resource is set to Finite capacity still it is getting overbooked once the master scheduling run is completed.

Resource = Finite capacity = Yes, 8 hr a day

Production parameter = Job scheduling, Finite capacity

Master Plan= Finite capacity=yes, Finite capacity time fence is 100 days, Coverage group= Capacity scheduling time fence = 100 days

Run Master plan for BOM item

Planned production order is generated

Approve and Firm PPO

No capacity error. Actual production is getting generated and resource is getting overbooked every time.

Even tries turning on and off below parameter in the production control parameter but no impact.

Please help me in understanding the Capacity scheduling concepts in D365 FO. Thanks

Can you try to schedule manually the planned orders booking 24 hours in total in your example with finite capacity flag ticked?

If that works it means it is an Plan configuration issue , if it does not work it means it is a product /route issue

Hello, you haven't shared the most important piece of configuration which is the production route.

Have you set the production route requirement on the resource group or specific resource?

Is the finite capacity flagged on the resourced group?

    Hi Ashish,

I tried to replicate the scenario with the details that you provided; however, I get the expected results.

If you can constantly replicate this issue, you could create a case with Microsoft support including all the details, so that we can investigate this.
