How to make the Exchange rate editable on Free Text Invoice

Hi I hope someone can help me.

How can I make the exchange rate editable on Free Text Invoice.

The exchange rate on Free text invoice is a display field, I added a new custom field, to CustInvoiceTable and use this field to populate the CustInvoiceJour.ExchRate.  But all the calculations further still use the default exchange rate.  I am worried about the impact if I change further.

Can anyone help to point me in the correct direction, so that only when I post the Free Text Invoice that this new field is used and not the default exchange rate.

Has anyone else had to do something like this.

    Hi Sophia,

    Adding just a field from another table will not change the default business logic. Adding a field from the CustInvoiceJour table is useless as there will be only a record created once you post a free text invoice.

    You would need to add a field with help of a table extension and extend the standard classes which do the posting of the free text invoice.

    Instead of using the free text invoice, you can use a general journal to post invoices and change the exchange rate.

    Hi,

    Exchange rate field on the free text invoice will be editable only for the below countries:

    Czech Republic,

    Estonia

    Hungary

    Lithuania

    Latvia

    Poland

    Russia

    Hi, thank you for your reply 

    I am looking for a solution for Dynamics 365 FnO.  The link indicates that it is for AX2012.

    The fixed exchange rate does not exist on FreeTextInvoice on D365FnO

    HI Sophia,

    The same functionality is available in Dynamics 365. I have verified a Russian legal entity. Then there is an exchange rate field available with all related logic.

    The CustInvoice table has a field called 'ExchRate_W'. This has some countries listed in the CountryRegionCodes property. You can use extensions to add more countries to the list to make the field available. You then also need to check the business logic (x++ coding) if there are also restrictions for the same list of countries.

    Thank you this was great I was able to use this solution by adding our country code on the extension.

    Thank you this solution it is working perfectly fine.

    I would like to add more here - We need to do the same change on data source field as well then it is visible and editable for given country regions.
