E-mail send batch job fails but without batch it works fine

Hello all,

There is an issue about e-mail send batch job I have been facing lately. I have a seperate AOS for  batch jobs and I have many batch jobs active there. I have no problem with any of them but the one that executes e-mail sending.

When I set up a batch for it, it fails until it completes the retry schedule, then fails completely. But when I run the job without setting it up as batch, it works just fine. So I don't think that this is a permission or AOS issue. I tried it on the same AOS with the same user for both cases.

Probably there is a difference between running the job with and without batch. Does anyone knows what is it?

Environment: Ax 2012 R2 CU7

I don’t if it’s the case, but in the past I had a similar issue.

Some customers due to security reason, have a white list of allowed IP address that can send e-mails. If the batch server isn’t in the allowed range, you can’t send e-mails from that particular AOS Server.

    Hi.

Are the individual emails failing to send (email processing queue) or is the batch job itself failing and going into an error state?

    Hello,

The user I said that could send e-mails was running AX on client.

Since batch runs on server, we thought this was the issue and the E-mail server was not in the same domain where AX runs.

So, we created a virtual smtp server and solved that issue.

    Thanks everyone!
