The default install is for online instances. Can we install this solution to premise too?

The Preview is for CRM Online only at this time. We are planning an On Premise release for later in the year.
I heard on premise support is on the roadmap - but MS is following the Online First model.
Like with MDM there is a connector/service that will have to be hosted somewhere (Azure) and CRM Online is easier for MS to control/develop to first.
