D365 HR - Restrict new plan enrollment during life event processing

Hi All,

During the life event processing I want the employee's ability to be restricted to only change the coverage of the benefit plan that he/she is previously enrolled and should not have the ability to enroll into any new plan.

In order to achieve the above, I set up the life event for 2 plans as below.

I hired 2 employees. I made sure that employee 1 only enrolled in the Test medical plan and  employee 2 enrolled in Test medical plan 2 and had waived off all other eligible plans. The enrollment was confirmed.

Updated the marital status and added a dependent for each employee. After the life event processing, both the employees were able to change the coverage for the Medical plan ( as expected), but were also able to enroll in other plans that they had waived off earlier . Based on the above setup I did not want employee to have the ability to chose new plans during life event processing.

2 questions:

Is it possible to restrict employees to only change coverage during life event processing?

Is the set up correct ?

Any advise is appreciated.

Kind Regards!

    Hi Manisha,

But would this new coverage make the employee eligible for these new plans that have now became available?

    Thanks!

    Hi Alexandra,

Many thanks for getting back to me.

All the plans that the employee is eligible ( even if not enrolled before ) were open for enrollment  when life event was processed. Employee is able to change coverage options of the plans that he/she was already enrolled and in addition is able to enroll into new plans ( plans that they had not enrolled prior to life event processing).

I have experimented with the highlighted 2 settings, turned them on and off. However I found identical results during life event processing. Can you please help me understand how the 2 highlighted setting should work?

    Hello Manisha,

Were all the plans available to be enrolled in or just some of them? Once they have changed the coverage would they become again available for these plans?

    Thanks!
