Hi,
When checking the MRP output we're noticing a large number of Planned Purchase Orders are created in the 'Approved' state and have order dates in the past.
I can't see what is driving this behaviour or understand why it is happening.
We have this tick box checked, so i'd expect everything to be forward scheduled with corresponding action and futures messages, but the planned orders are not.
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark,
As far as I know, there is no change in this process, it works the same also in D365.
If you are sure that the orders are created and approved automatically by MRP, then this could be done trough a customization.

Adrian
Thanks Guy,
All my understanding and knowledge of AX would agree with you, however, it's undeniable that AX is creating the Planned Purchase Orders in the 'Approved' status and with an order date in the past. I can't figure why this is happening, and was wondering if it's a 'feature' introduced in CU13 or subsequent hotfixes.
Any light on the subject would be very welcome!
Thanks
Mark
I think it unlikely that MRP is creating Planned orders with the status Approved. Master scheduling (in standard, at least) creates planned orders with the status Unprocessed.
Thanks Adrian. Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear in my original post. I know that Approved Planned orders are not modified by MRP.
My question is why they are being approved in the first place by AX (not the Planners). They are being generated in the 'Approved' state.
Also, why are the order dates in the past when the futures message tick box is checked.
Having examined all the parameter settings we have I can not figure this out.
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark,
Approved planned orders are not modified or deleted by MRP.
docs.microsoft.com/.../maintain-planned-orders
This is probably the reason why you see old approved planned orders.
