Hello!
Is there a reason and a way to fix the set up on this issue? Every time I post and entry and try to save it, the file name is blank and I have to fill in the description or file name. For some reason I am the only one that has this issue. The rest of the folks that utilizes this feature somehow gets the default name and has the option to change if need to. However, with me it is always a blank. Please help. We have a 2019 version of GP.

Our IT dept was able to figure out the issue.
The issue was I was using the “Microsoft Print to PDF” and using this print driver does not populate the “file name”
The “Adobe PDF” converter print driver has been installed and this fixed the problem. I am now now using the “Adobe PDF” print driver with no issues.

My understanding is that you connect to your GP server remotely thru RDP ?
When you send the output of a report to a print queue that is not local, it's unlikely that the default name will show up.. if your PDF output queue is mapped remotely from your computer to get the report saved locally to your computer, the TS server is likely to leave the name blank or something else by default, but not the GP report name.

I would suggest to start troubleshooting by verifying you have security to the canned report in GP and not a modified report. I would also have you RDP directly to the server and log into GP and see if the same thing happens. Also disable any 3rd party products and see if the issue still happens.
Likely if it is user-specific, you will need to open a support case to get further assistance.

GP Financial Module. Posted a batch and now printing it as a PDF File (as we are currently working remotely). For everyone else it will populate a File name let's say "aaDistributionJournal-GLBM" for AA postings or "General Posting Journal" for the regular entry without the AA. Then they would just hit save and it saves it with that default name. However, for mine it would be blank and I have to fill in the File name before I can save it. Is there a setting in the GP set up exclusively for my PC that need to be set up to fix this? Outside GP I am able to save files with their default name and I just hit save. But with GP I can't do that.

Can you provide more details? What type of entries/module are you posting? The file name is blank where? What feature are you utilizing?
