SSRS - Assembly not referenced on several client computer

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hello,

I have two client-computer which are surprising me with the following error when trying to run any SSRS-Report (AX2012R3):

Assembly containing type Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Frameworks.Controls.ReportViewer.ReportAdapterFactory is not referenced.

Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.

The same user can run the reports without error on another client computer.

What I have tried so far:

  • Refresh the WCF configuration in the client configuration program.

  • Refresh the Reporting Server Cache.

  • Delete the client .auc – files.

  • Restart the Reporting Service.

  • Stop the AOS, delete the files in XPPIL – folder, start the AOS.

  • Raindancing around the computer.

Someone got an hint for me?

Sascha

Building CIL, restarting reporting services and so on isn't likely to help, because they're on server. You said yourself that the problem is on client - namely with the report viewer control.

As the first thing, I would check the version of these clients.

    Thanks for your reply Martin,

the ax-kernel-Version of the Clients is Ok and fits to the Version of the aos.

On the Client the follwing ReportViewer-Tools are installed:

Use the Assmebly Binding Log Viewer to see what assembly it is looking for and where it fails.

The Assembly Binding Log Viewer remains empty when I try to run a Report.

When I try to run the Report on the eventlog of the Client the following entry is created:

"The description for Event ID 193 from source Microsoft Dynamics AX cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Microsoft Dynamics AX Business Connector Session 3.

Could not load assembly 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Frameworks.Controls, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies."

Ouch. Since we use AX 2012 R9, we have to use the Report Viewer 2012. After installing the MS Report Viewer 2012 Runtime everything works fine.

Anyway thanks for your answers Martin.
