Dear Expert,
I am running a consolidated report from MR and have chosen average as the currency translation type for the main accounts in the report.
I was expecting that the exchange rate used in consolidation was calculated by YTD total of exchange rates / numbers of exchange rates. And the total YTD value was calculated by this rate * Total Value of the Transaction Currency
However, it turned out that the YTD value was calculated by adding up the value of each month. Monthly value was calculated by monthly average rate * Monthly Value in Transaction currency.
Here is the current set up in AX and MR.
Can anyone please let me know how can I set up to use the YTD average rate, i.e. YTD total of exchange rates / numbers of exchange rates for the auto consolidation? I am in Microsoft AX not GP by the way.

If you really need a different / additional translation technique then feel free to let MS know about it.
On top of this site we have an ideas site that allows you suggesting missing functionalities in D365 to the MS product team.
If you get sufficient votes from community members then it will be likely that we get this feature in the standard application.

Thanks very much for your comments. I‘ve set up the rate and translation type in AX as per detailed in the site you shared.
As our company have been using YTD average rate for consolidation ( involves much manual work), we are aiming to automate this process and thought MR would be an idea tool to achieve this.

What you are asking for is not supported but I would like to ask whether it makes a big difference using a YTD average rate compared to using an average rate on a period-to-period basis?
