.axc configuration file running on the server but its not working on other computer.

Hi guys,

I created a new AX configuration file from my server and tries to run this file into my pc or any other system, it is not working except the server itself from where I created this file.

Following below is the error message getting when I'm trying to open Dynamics AX client through this new .axc file.

    Hi,

    It is open by default. But I see the issue is may be because of AX versions.

    In my pc our ax version is ax 2012 R2 while this new .axc file is for AX 2012 R3.

    Can any one help me out how to run this .axc file which is AX 2012 R3 while keeping my old version of AX i.e. AX 2012 R2 in my system.

    What you are trying to do is impossible. AX client and server version must match, because communication protocol can change between each kernel hotfix.

    Hi Vilmos,

    Yeah you are right but I'm wandering how can i ask users to test and parallely run the new AX 2012 R3 environment while keeping their current version of AX i.e. AX 2012 R2 keeps running without stopping their daily operations.

    You can install a Remote Desktop Services host to act with as a terminal server with a trial license, I think that is valid for 90 days. Your users could connect to the published AX RDS RemoteApp installed there.

    You can't have two different client dynamics AX versions running in the same machine, so if the current version is AX2012 R2 for daily work, they should test the newer version in a remote machine, you can work with a terminal farm using a rdp file to access AX2012 R3
