SL 2015 CU1 client installation issue

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I'm trying to install the client on a workstation. All appears to install properly, but on starting the application, I receive the following error:

"Unable to access e:\mdsl\Microsoft Dynamics SL\SL\Applications\SM\9822000 DEFAULT. Windows CreateProcess() error 193."

In the course of troubleshooting, I tried starting the application on the server and received the same error. Bear in mind that this was working on the server since installation and at least six weeks ago (last time I logged into it.)

So far I have:

  • checked registry setting to make sure that the mapped drive (and not the UNC) was reflected.
  • checked permissions on the SL folders to verify that that proper rights were given
  • asked IT to check the Symantec Anti-Virus settings (waiting to hear back.)

Additionally, on the workstation, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
