How can I display icons at recently viewed items in recent menu in left-navigation-bar in Dynamics 365 CE?

Hello together,

is there a way to be it in configuration or in Javascript to display the icon in Recent menu in Left Navigation Bar per object - see the following figure?
In an earlier version of Dynamics 365 CRM e.g. 2015, the icons were displayed per object.

unfortunately it's by design. We can't do that on a supported way. A new idea has been posted that fits your needs, vote:
