Monthly revenue sorted by customer report

Hi there

I am trying to generate a report in D365 F&O that will allow me to view monthly sales sorted by customer.

Is there a report that does this? The closest I can find is Sales and Marketing -> Inquiries and Reports -> Sales order Reports -> Sales order per customer. However, this shows the overall history of the customers sales (similar to the total column below) and does not break down sales per month.

I am after a report that gives similar results as below:

    Hy Lewis,

for using embedded PowerBI inside D365FO there is no additional reporting package needed. It is included in D365FO license.

The only thing to do is in Tier 2 environment to switch on the refresh of the aggregated entities (in your case Salescube) in Entity Store. By default all Cubes are switched off.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello LewisB,

What about the customer aging and the customer balance list reports that are available in the credit and collections module?

Do they come closer to what you expect?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hy,

on what environment you are working?

Tier 1 needs additional setup to work with PowerBI embedded reports, Tier 2 should work without additional setup.

If you don't see the menu items it could be because of the roles you belong.

    Hi Andreas

Thanks for your answer. I have searched for both those reports ('Sales & profitability performance' and 'Item/customer statistics') and I am unable to find them in our system. I have a lot of Power BI experience, so using these reports would be excellent for me.

Is it possible that our D365 F&O is set-up incorrectly, hence the missing default reports?

    Hy Lewis,

there are multiple old style fashioned reports to get this data. e.g Customer/item Statistic also on Sales and Marketing. Here are two period definable. but it is not as felxible. Also the report "Sales analysis by invoce" contains the data you need, but is only listed format, The data from this report can be exported to Excel and transformed to your report layout.

For your sample I would recommend to go to Sales and profitability performance Report (also in Sales and marketing). This is a PowerBI (embedded) report which can easyly be modified to get the report you need. If you have according user rights and PowerBI experience it would be possible to do the PowerBI modification inside D365FO on the fly.

I just did this in my Test Environment in about 2 min.

    Hope this hepls.
