We have a custom quote entity in CRM and I have created a document word template to be used with it.

So it now works but just for me personally. When I am in a record for this entity and clicks "Word templates".

I can choose the template that I have previously created. It's visible to choose. It gets downloaded and Word opens up with all the entity data filled in. So that's all fine.

However, I want other users in our organization to be able to do the same. I have setup security settings so they have access to the custom entity and then I tried to share the document template (which is private) with these users. However, they can not see the document template when clicking "Create Word template" in the entity.

I then tried to upload the template as a "system template" instead of a "private document template" that I shared. That didn't help either.

So my question is - How do I make the word template for this entity available for the other users?

Hi Jason

I had similar problem, go to security roles and to business management.

and below the form posted above you will find a permission to create documents.

Hi Sam,

I have a similar problem to River. I have made the changes you suggested and the word templates now appear for my users, however when I click to create the template i get an error. Any idea what might be causing this error?

Hi River,

For the Word template to be seen by other user you need to set security privileges for Personal Document template.

Suppose for you want to make the word template available to users having Sales Person role the you need to set privileges as

You have done correct by uploading them as a system template - now you need to share the correct roles and permissions to users who need access to it

HI,

When you upload a template as System template , that will be visible to everyone in the organization.

There is no share option for word templates

Check if you were given any security roles for the template, those specific security roles are not available for the users.
