Hi All 

With the new HMRC Tax Regulations soon to be in place around 'Making Tax Digital' https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/making-tax-digital/overview-of-making-tax-digital

Is anyone aware of any tools or developments for AX 2012 which will help with this process?

    Hi Dynamics - User,

    On LCS you can search within the Issue search section if there are updates available or pending. If not, you can try to contact Microsoft Support and ask about the plans.

    In my opinion, there is no need to buy an add-on from another partner. Microsoft is adding MTD support for AX2012 and Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations in Q1 2019. If you are not running AX 2012 R3, you can upgrade or try to backport the MTD objects yourself.

    We are going to wait for the AX solution from Microsoft.  HMRC will operate a ‘soft landing’ for any penalties for non-compliance with the method of filing a VAT return digitally.  The worst case is a £400 penalty…..but you could easily prove ‘reasonable efforts to comply’…and it would be waived.

    Hi, does anyone know if Microsoft has finally released a feature in AX 2012 for the UK's Making Tax Digital?

    Hello JC,

    To the best of my knowledge Microsoft hasn't released its Making Tax Digital software yet.

    They are however running a presentation / demonstration on 28th February. Details are:

    Session overview
    During this session we will talk about the new submission process introduced by HMRC in the United Kingdom for VAT declarations. We will explain how to configure VAT declaration and set up electronic messaging in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. We will demonstrate the submission process to the HMRC application in a sandbox environment. This session is especially relevant for consultants who will implement the feature and provide training to users.

    Hi, are you referring to AX2012 R3 or earlier versions e.g. AX2012 R2 / RTM? 

    Microsoft is giving a Web Conference this week, on Thursday 14th March to demonstrate the Making Tax Digital software for D365FO and AX2012 R3. Here is the link:

    The hotfix to look out for is KB #4488588, it has not been released yet but is due shortly. If you can register for the Web Conference on Thurs 14th March, there will be an opportunity to ask questions. No doubt there will be many people asking the same question. Regards,
