CERTIFICATION on VENDOR form

Kindly explain me the functionality and use of CERTIFICATION FORM on vendor screen.

I put the data in it, but how will it work? where will it reflect ? or only this is data entry form? no relation with any operations ?? kindly confirm.

    This is from the Vendor management Microsoft documentation:

    Vendor certification

    Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 enables vendors and purchasing professionals to upload any certificates that might support a vendor’s competencies or diversity categorization, or for any other purpose. Certification can be set up with an effective expiration date.

    [/quote]

    It is data entry only, like if your vendor is a fishing company and you need permits to fish in certain Oceanic areas, you could store that certificate with an expiry date in your system to track if you could still deal with this vendor.

    I have set up an alert for certifications that expire in 30 days and 7 days.  The alert is supposed to send a Pop Up and an email.  However, I have not seen either show up.
