Hi guys, I’m probably asking a silly question right now...

Can I use Dynamics NAV 2016 without internet? It will be fine if all data stored on the device, no synchronization needed. I only need to work within the application without connection to the server via the Internet (WLAN or wireless connection). If yes, do I just purchase a license and download the installer?

    If there is single user then you can do it by installing database and client in one machine but for multiple users recommend to use server client scenario.

    You can use windows client.

    NAV 2016 has a three-tier architecture, so you have 3 components:

    - database

    - NAV server (service tier)

    - NAV client

    If they're on the same machine (all layers installed locally) you are completely isolated from the network (but in production this is absolutely to avoid always).

    In a real production environment, normally you have at least the database (SQL Server) on a different machine, so a LAN connection is required (ans this is different than Internet connection, you can work also without Internet access).
