Viewing of Vendors Across Different Companies

Posted on by 120

I am new user of Nav 2013.  I have received a different opinion on viewing the balance of the same vendors across different companies.  Some said it will required customisation.  May i know what's the best way without having to customise?

    Hi

It can also be done using the free version of Jet Reports that is included with NAV, you will need someone who has good excel ability to help create the report though

    Cheers

As Jens said, you cannot do this in NAV without customization. This is not so big customization, but it is necessary. For this requirements, I use multicompany in BI solution. I can suggest BI4Dynamics: www.bi4dynamics.com/

This is not so expensive solution, but it is excellent.

Hi Jens, thank you for replying. The companies are independent legal entity.  Does not Jet Enterprise allowing the data to be shared amongst the companies or we will need to key in to the individual company?

    Hi,

if "company" is a different company (independent legal entity) in NAV, then yes, this will need customization. Depending on your master data setup this can be quite a change. That's one of the specifics of NAV as an ERP, IMO: The company is the top level (and sadly, also in most cases the bottom level) for a consolidated view without actually using a consolidation or a BI tool.

For your requirement I would suggest to have a look at the Jet Enterprise product. This does a classic BI cube approach with some neat NAV-related features.

    with best regards

    Jens
