Sales order discount in percentage

Hi Experts,

Our company required percentage discount like 5%, 10% and 15% on sales order. Discounts access should only with General Manager(GM).

I know this is not available in standard version. I am thinking to use discount percentage but this is line wise not on whole sales order and also I do not know how GM will get notify that someone wants discount.

Please give me some idea..

Hi faiz7049,

For sales orders we have header and line discounts available that you can use.

For getting the approval from the GM you might have to design a new workflow.

Hi Faiz7049,

You can setup security on field level where only the GM has access, but that could be a bit cumbersome as it might become a daily task. The workflow suggested by Ludwig is helpful. However, out of the box, there is no sales order workflow. This should be customized. After development, you can configure a conditional step to find out if discount was used by the employee. If so, the GM should approve it; otherwise it could be an automated approval.

Hi faiz7049,

We have discount % on sales order header tab, That applies on total sales order value. The field name is "Total discount %"

As Andre and Ludwig suggested, you have to create custom SO workflow to get an approval and notify to GM.
