Migration of Project management and accounting module from AX09 to D365FO

Posted on by

Hello Experts,

I am sure you all are safe!

One of our client is in process to upgrade from AX09 to D365FO. Our internal team is successfully migrating all data and/or in process.

Into project management and accounting module I need a help from you on which tables are required to consider, which data to consider for bringing opening balances, project types, categories, wbs etc. etc. .....!

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Arnab

    Hi,

Yes I am in touch with developer now and MS also. I am hoping for the best resolution and a logical decision 9from customer). Thank you so much for your quick help.

    Hi Arnab,

In D365FO you have the beginning balance project journal that can help you bringing over the balances of your ongoing projects from AX2009.

If you are, however, 'forced' to bring over individual transactions, then have a chat with a developer and ask for a sufficiently large budget because it will take you a while brining those data over.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

Customer's requirement is to bring all the project transactions into D365FO, but, our recommendation is to use bring only "Open Projects" into D365FO.

The volume of Open and/or Long running projects are quiet high in numbers intoAX2009.

We are trying to convince customer to bring as a value only and not to consider transaction by transaction. In this note we really do not have any data-point/case study etc. documents with us where  we can bring these over the table for a comparative study.

Any help on this topic please. Thanking in advance.

    BR

    Hi Arnab,

When you mention tables, does that indicate that you want to bring over all of the project transactions that have been recorded in AX2009?

Do you have a lot of open long-running projects that are not completed in AX2009?

Would it be sufficient for you to bring over only the current 'balances' of the projects rather than the individual transactions?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
