AOT Static Query Results

Is there a way to quickly view the results of a Static Query you build in the AOT?  When you browse data dictionary, you can "Open" the table and view its data.  However, when I build a Query in AOT, there doesn't seem to be a quick way to check what data is being returned.  I've had good success writing some code to run these queries using the AIF Query and Metadata services.  But it would be handy to get a quick view of the results in AOT even if the format wasn't pretty.  I can see you could build a Form, but that's a lot of work just to check what is coming out.

    Hi,

    Even I would be delighted to know some solution for this.

    I normally do a view on this query and see the data, as the chnages on the query reflect on the view.

    Regards

    I usually do the same thing as LALASA... just create a new View in the AOT and select your query in the 'Query' property of that view.

    there is a quick check thats helps a little

    Query q = new Query(querystr(BLA BLA)))

    info (q.datasourceno(1).tostring())

    you get som overview if the relations are correct

    this tostring is also used in the debugger of ax

    or drag the query to a view and ad the fields.

    sorry no other options.

    I would recommend DEV_QueryBrowser, although I don't know it deals with some AX2012 features.

    Agree with Martin, DEV_QueryBrowser is really handy tool for online queering. I did migrate a tool into an AX2012 and as I remember it had some minor compile errors, which were easily fixed.
