AX 2012 R2 CU7. We are still in implementation phase.

On job registration SOME users see this error.

Enter employee ID, user is presented with this infolog.
OK the infolog and log in again it lets the user in.

Enter employee ID, user is presented with this infolog.
Cancel the infolog and log in as different user. - infolog:-Internal error.

Internal error occurs on every subsequent user login on that terminal until original user completes their 2nd login OR AX client restarted.

Anyone any ideas where to start debugging? All number sequences appear to be set in Parameters, but it is possible their is a time registration journal type or similar not set!???

Also, for info, one user in question has 'System Administrator' and 'System User' roles set.

    Hi,

Are you able to find the NumSeq Id? Maybe can be an issue related to the setup of the number sequence

Go to the journals ( You can access them by going to the setting: Production > Setup > Manufacturing execution > Production) and create new number sequences for them. Most likely there is an issue with you route/job card series.

    Hi Guys

Giuseppe:- Im afraid I have no idea what the number sequence id is. It is obviously something that happens at Job Registration logon but I can see nothing more specific.

I have trawled the number sequence tables and can see nothing obviously wrong.

Fredrik:-do you mean, production control » Setup » Manufacturing Execution » Production Parameters?

I can see no reference to number sequences in here (or I may not be looking in the correct place?)

    Thanks.

    Hi Garth,

Best way to get at them is through Production Control > Setup > Production Journal Names.

Give all your journals a new Voucher series (if that is allowed). If you have many... Start with route or Job card, then picking list, then the RAFs.

But first... See if any is missing a Voucher series!

    Hi.

Apolgies for the delay in response. I have checked "Production Control > Setup > Production Journal Names."

There did appear to be an issue in the number sequence / voucher series was incorrect (it referenced the DAT company). Everything referenced the same sequence. Gave new voucher series (currently just 4 items).

Subsequent investigations show that the error also occurs when marking good quantity in the feedback function on ME - Job registration.

I subsequently generated a new WO (incase error existed on existing job card journal).

Processed through ME Feedbackand still get the same error.

number sequence zero does not exist.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    1. check the voucher number sequence associated with the journal type you are trying to post.

    http://daxdilip.blogspot.in/2014/02/troubleshooting-error-uploading-invoice.html

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh242127.aspx

    2. Fee journal defined. (Project management and accounting -> Setup -> Journals -> Journal Names.
    Secondly:
Fee Journal voucher must be selected at project Journal parameter
    3. A default Fee Journal is specified in project setup. (Project management and accounting -> setup -> Project management and accounting parameters. Journals tab- Default Journals names -Fees)

Did you ever find a solution to this? Im in the same boat as you, at testing stage pre implementation and im having this error when someone tries to complete a job registration?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Yes - after many hours of testing I eventually put an ax developer on the job and got a bill for £300 for the answer.

I will answer your question by PM for just £100!

    Only joking.

Production Control » Setup » Manufacturing Execution » Production Parameters » General » Time Journal » Needs a number sequence.

I had one existing called 'Job' and my reseller set it to that.

Microsoft - Suggestion for next AX build. More descriptive error messages?

    Good luck with it.
