Just started to look at retail module - and just after installation faced problem I do not know how to approach. One of the steps necessary (as I understood) to be done is to set up RealTime service. During installation I was asked to configure it, but marked 'do not configure it now', but at the moment seems I need to do so. One by one:
1) RealTime service is necessary to sync data between AX and stores - is it correct?
2) As I understood, ModernPOS will also not work without RealTime service configured & running - it is true?
3) Regarding RealTime service, window to configure it looks as shown below:
Documentation I've found is under link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh580631.aspx; problem is that there is no any explanation how to configure such a server itself, I am asked to provide its details (name, address and so on), but have no idea how to configure it. Tried to look for in between other services - not any, tried also to see sharepoint setup if there is no any application running on port 809 (in contoso demo it is used for net.tcp protocol as shown above), but didn't find anything.
Could anyone advice where to lok for details how to configre RealTime service? Or maybe it is configured by intaller, and I am just not aware of it?

I have the same question (0)As you have installed the Real time service but not configured, you may have to do it through powershell scripts. You can follow the installation guide for the same. As you are new to retail installation, my suggestion would be to uninstall the Real time service and install it again and this time configure the real time service and then configure the real time service profile in AX.
