User License - Current Number of Users

Hi All

I have query regarding AX user license count.

In my company there are 30 users for AX.and out of which only 6 users are regular users.

So i bought 10 user license.This is only for concurrent users or how it will work.

Because while i importing users, AX allows me to import all 30 users and i am able to assign system admin role to all

when AX system will stop me , i think once 11 users access a system at same time ...i may receive infolog from system or not.

    As we discussed in this forum yesterday (thread User count), there is nothing like a licensing of concurrent users in AX 2012. If you have ten licenses, you can give it only ten users. If you gave access to all thirty users while you bought license only for ten, you're clearly violating the license agreement. If you don't want to buy licenses for those remaining twenty users, remove them from AX.

    The software won't stop you from ignoring legal agreements; police and lawyers can. It's your responsibility to read and follow the license agreement; AX can't know whether users won't legally access the system from a licensed device, for instance.

    At Ax 2012 there was an option for device licenses for Enterprise and Functional,  but that will not be the case going forward. So :

    Try converting the licences you have - there may be some cost, I don't know whether this is still allowed, because its not an option for Ax7/DMO365

    or

    Let some users be the data entry clerks for all - maybe security /training issues.

    or

    load data via Excel -not ideal

    or

    Recognise that Ax is an Enterprise System buy more licenses and encourage users to do more with the system..
