ATP with on hand inventory

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi, New to using ATP.

Our ATP is setup as follows.

ATP time fence = 90 days

Backward demand TF = 10 days

Backward supply TF = 10 days

Delayed demand offset time = 2 days

Delayed supply offset time = 2 days

We have 1 on hand and a sales order for 3.  When we run Master planning we are getting a planned order for 3, was expecting a planned for 2. It doesn't seem to be recognizing the on hand quantity.  Is there a setting I missed?  Thanks.

Thanks Jacob.  Option one fixed the issue.

ATP and MRP aren't necessarily related.  There's a couple of things that could be causing this.

    1. Your positive days setting is less than the coverage time fence.  This would cause AX to not see the on-hand inventory.

    2. You have safety stock requirements against this on-hand inventory and a "fulfill minimum" field set to "today's date" on the coverage group.

    3. You have "BOM requirements" or "Route requirements" enabled on the coverage group, and you have a sub-BOM or sub-route selected on the sales order.

    4. The on-hand inventory is batch controlled and is expiring before the sales order needs it.

There's probably some other settings, too, but I'd look into those first.

ATP is only going to control when the delivery date you can give to your customer is - it doesn't do anything really about planned orders.
