Payables Trx Entry Batch Status Stuck in "Printing"

I have a regular transaction entry batch that finished posting and while printing the reports the system hung up and never finished. Is there a way to finish the process without having to just simply unlock the batch and repost?

    Hi Josiah,

You can refer to following blog post for details about clearing stuck batch

Thanks Rubal. I am aware of how to unlock it in various ways, but I'm just concerned that unlocking it won't completely fix the nuances of exactly where it had left off in the process and I'm not sure that tricking the system into thinking that the batch is fresh will be good for the systems integrity.

    Hi Josiah

Generally in such cases, try to clear the temp folder in your local machine and that generally resolves issues where batches get stuck at printing stage.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

I have a very similar issue occuring on a daily basis several times a day.  We are unable to pinpoint why this is occuring.  The issue does not normally arise in the mornings, but begins to be an issue in the afternoon.  We are on a Citrix environment.  Would clearing temp files help that?  Why does this work?

The posting process creates temp files in the temporary folder for the posting journals and if the temporary folders are full, it could case the posting process to slow up (or) get interrupted (or) hung.

So the best practice would be to keep the temp folders clear as much as possible. :)

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Siva - do you know what temp files are created?  I tested deleting all under my user\local\temp directory and started getting errors from GP when trying to open forms due to invalid path.  I then left the directory path and deleted the files inside, but that reset my screen/start up configuration.

We are on a Terminal Server setup and I don't know who posted the batch so I would need to delete all temp files for all users.

    Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Brent
