Hey All,
I use the Ribbon Workbench Smart Buttons a lot in our Dynamics Environment but was hoping I could add in a confirmation message after the workflow has completed, or potentially a failed message if it is cancelled.
I'm pretty terrible with JS so anything idiot proof would be amazing :)

Possible through JavaScript only. However, you can trigger it an action from JS for better success or failure tracking.

You don't need to write any javascript for that. When you configure smart button to run workflow you have an option to configure success and failure message and format for which is given in below blog -
