portal invitation web role when redeemed

Hi,

I am setting up a new user on the Portal through the invitation redemption route. The Send Invitation workflow is running, the user receives an email, clicks on the link, and is set up as a user in the normal way.

What I can't seem to get right is the 'When Redeemed' process. Before initiating the workflow I am specifying the 'Assign To Account', and the 'Assign to Web Roles' values, but these are not being reflected once the workflow has been completed and the user set up.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Steve

    Hi Steve,

You can assign Account and Web Roles to the contact when create an invitation record from the contact.

Based on the document, account and web roles will be assigned automatically.

Invite contacts to your portals - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

Automatically assign the invited contact(s) to an account upon invite redemption
Automatically assign the invited contact(s) to a Web Role(s) upon redemption

Then i checked the 'Audit History' of the contact:

Account and web roles are all assigned to the contact after you register through invitation code in portal.

    Hi Leah,

Thanks for your reply. The steps you outlined are what I've been doing, which is not working when the invitation is redeemed, although the status of the invitation is showing as completed.

Also what I don't get is any audit history

    Regards

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

You can refer following link to enable auditing for the contact entity:

Then you can open contact form to click Related > Audit History.

    Thank you Leah,

I was able to set up auditing on Contacts and Invitations through following the instructions you pointed to.

I then saw that the reason the Invitation Redemption actions wern't happening was because the Invite Redemption workflow was not activated. I wish I'd seen this first... Just glad it was a simple solution in the end.

I am now able to assign web roles and accounts to new users as they respond to the Invitation email.

    Thanks again.

    Steve
