Dynamics CRM 8.2.1.176 on-premise License Key doesn't work on Dynamics 365 9.0.14.12 on-premise

hi,

we have a Dynamics CRM 8.2.1.176 on-premise and we planned to remove that and install a new dynamics 365 on-premise.

Dynamics 365 9.0.14.12 is installed with 90-days-trial-key.

and we're not able to activate the new Server with the Key, which the old server used to:

I shut down the old server and entered the key on the new server.

Error: The product key entered is not valid. Make sure you have entered the product key correctly, and then try again.

any idea? thanks a lot in advance.

    Hello,

Most probably you have purchased the Dynamics CRM (V8) on-premise license through Dynamics Price List (DPL) and you need to move to a different offering before you are able to get D365 V9 Registration keys.

This means customers will need to move from DPL offerings to either an EA, MSPA or CSP agreement before they will get their V9 keys and these keys will be available with media once they move to one of these agreements.

The other option would be for the customer to move from On Premise pricing to D365 subscription base pricing, which then they can purchase through a CSP Partner.

Does your company work with an LSP for other software offerings? The reason I am asking is I believe MPSA and/or EA agreements would need to be ordered via an LSP.

If you are not working with one, you will need to work with one, or eventually move to a Volume Licensing offer (www.microsoft.com/.../default.aspx).

These questions should be placed directly to Billing support (if you purchased the licenses directly) or through Commercial support for Partners through MPN support channels.

    Cheers
