Send email message to one-off email addresses (non-contacts in CRM)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Interested to know if it is possible to communicate to email addresses that aren't attached to a contact in CRM. I.e. one-off communications where an email address is just typed into the send field.

Conscious that adding ad-hoc email addresses as contacts increases the number of marketable contacts in the Marketing Module CRM solution, which could eventually increase costs.

    Hi,

For one-off communications, you can try to use the feature "Test send" and type the email address into the "Send test email to" field directly.

The "Test contact" and the "Test content settings" will only affect the preview of the email.

The test email will be sent to the email address which you typed.

However, if there is any relationship in your email.

For example, there is a button containing the Check-in link of an event which will be only shown to the contacts who have registered the event.

If the email is sent in "Test send" way, the email itself can be delivered but the button cannot be shown.
