BYOD exports to SQL Server or Azure SQL?

Hi,

We are experiencing problems with BYOD exports and particularly with frequently updated GJAE-entities. I happened to notice that BYOD database is located on SQL Server(vm?) and not on Azure SQL - which I've been used to use on my earlier projects. Just wondering could the export problems be related to the issues with SQL server connection and that they're not using Azure SQL? Any thoughts?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi migi111,

What exactly is the problem and does it occur in the development or production environment? It could be some connectivity issue due to the huge number of records in the GJAE entities.

    According to Microsoft's recommendations:

Before you can configure the entity export option and use the BYOD feature, you must create a SQL database by using Azure portal.

For one-box development environments, you can create a database in the local Microsoft SQL Server database. However, this database should be used only for development and testing purposes. For production environments, you must create an Azure SQL database.

This is happening in Production environment. The problem is that normally incremental updates take 1-2 minutes to transfer the data, but sometimes it just keeps executing until timeout, even though there might be only couple hundred new records to be transfered.

    Hi migi111,

Which product version does production environment have?

There are two entities for GJAE General journal account entry and General journal account entry reporting. Can you elaborate about the error message that you get?

If you get timeout error, you can increase the Send timeout (in hours) the on Data import/export framework parameters:

To get a better clarification, you can raise a support ticket with a time span and execution id of the BYOD job that has been failed by time out error so they check further.
