Hi All,

What is the actual difference between these  2 fields cost amount(actual) and Purchase amount(actual) , present in Value entries(table-  5802) and Item ledger entries (table - 32).

I have the same question (0)

Not all items have purchase costs - assembly, production. Costing method wise you might have average or standard in place. In which case your purchase cost gets overlooked. Having both fields therefore ensures a smarter audit trail capability

Also, value entries are summed into field in the item ledger entry table.

If you have a Standard costing method, Purchase Amount is the amount on the purchase Invoice while the cost amount is the inventory cost calculated on the item's standard cost. The purchase variance is the difference between those two.
