Making a workorder in demo version of MS Dynamics 365 Field Service

Posted on by 10

Dear MS dynamics users,

I recently signed-up for the demo version of MS Dynamics 365 Field Service to see if it could be of any use for our organisation.

I am becoming kind of familiar with the software, however I seem to be not able to make a work order. When I try to do this after filling in all required information do I get the following error code: 0x8004f502.

I dont have Administrative rights, only read/write. Could it have to do something with this?

I hope someone can help me!

Kind regards,

Dennis van den Broek

It's working now. I followed steps that were provided in the initial link that you sent, the only problem was (which I realize now) getting to the right settings.

So if maybe someone else encounters the same problem: Go to settings in your Dynamics 365 Field service view > then click advanced settings > click on the drop down arrow next to settings > Security > Users

    Thanks for your help Alexander!

    You can

#1 go to Settings>Security>Field Security Profiles and add the user(s) or

#2 go to Settings>Security>Users>USER>Field Security Profiles and add the profile.

Still it's strange that you use a fresh instance but get Javascipt errors. That shouldn't happen. Can you share a screenshot of the error and the underlying page?

    Thanks for your answer.

Do you have any idea how I can change my security rights to Administrative? When I try to do it in the ''Users" tap do I get the following error message:

Invalid JavaScript Action Library: /_static/_common/scripts/RibbonActions.js is not a web resource and is not supported.

Based on the error message I would guess that you are lacking Field Level Security rights on one of the work order fields. Check this page: docs.microsoft.com/.../view-user-accounts-security-roles
